Opinion Matters investigated the impact of bladder leakage
November 13, 2022
Opinion Matters carried out research for Contrelle throughout 27.07.2022 – 02.08.2022 amongst a panel of 500 women aged 40+ who suffer from bladder leaks.
- Half of respondents (50%) said that say they’ve been living with its impact for 1-3 years. In fact, just over one in seven (15%) have lived with it for 6 years or more
- Nearly four in five (79%) women aged over 40 agree that bladder leaks can be part of daily life, occurring when they simply sneeze, cough and even just laugh (48%). In fact, 93% of sufferers in the North East leak every time they sneeze.
- More than half of women (56%) say this can make them feel embarrassed, as 48% state it has taken its toll on their levels of confidence.
- The worry and anxiety caused is also enough for four in ten women (40%) aged 51-55 to say that they are constantly concerned about the condition.
- The list of day-to-day activities negatively affected is far ranging, including how sufferers dress, the amount or type of exercise they do, their relationships with partners and what days out they plan.
Contrelle doesn't believe women should have to change or modify their activities. We are passionate about helping women regain their confidence and freedom.
